SMCC high quality woven geotextile fabric can be made from a variety of materials, but the most common materials are usually woven fabrics or yarn blends. Woven geotextiles usually resemble plastic film, and the weave can only be seen upon closer inspection. Whether you need a medium or light woven geotextile fabric depends entirely on the purpose of your construction project. Woven geotextiles and nonwoven geotextiles are the same category of geotextiles, which are permeable fabrics often used in engineering and construction for filtration, separation, reinforcement, drainage or soil protection.
Woven geotextiles have a single, uniform fiber length and are strong, making them suitable for construction projects where soil stability is required, such as parking lots and road construction. Woven geotextiles are resistant to any degradation from ultraviolet light and are more suitable for long-term use.
The easiest way to differentiate between the two types of geotextiles is to check the elongation. In general, nonwoven geotextiles have a much higher elongation than woven geotextiles. Specifications for nonwoven geotextiles include an elongation factor of more than 50 percent, while woven geotextiles typically have an elongation factor of 5 to 25 percent.

(1) Woven geotextile can be used as an insulating layer between road ballast and road base or between road base and soft base.
