To increase the lockability of all bolts use LOCKTITE 577 or equivalent.
FUNCTION
Volume A is connected to the pressure tank through a gap between the valve body and the plunger. Volume A has the same pressure as the pressure tank.
Due to the larger pressure surface of the plunger in volume A, the piston is pressed against the impulse pipe and sealed between the pressure tank and the impulse pipe.
Volume B is carried out through a solenoid valve connected to the pilot air system. The area on the pilot air side is larger, so the pilot diaphragm is pressed against the top of the valve body and isolates volume A from the environment.
When cleaning starts, the solenoid valve closes the connection (a) and opens to the environment (b), which means that volume B is pumped out.
The membrane is pressed upwards (c) and the volume A is pumped out through the 2 ports on the outside of the valve body.
The piston moves rapidly upwards due to the pressure difference on the plunger.
Compressed air from the pressure tank is released through the impulse pipe as a pulse and then into a series of filter bags.
The solenoid is closed to ambient air and open to pilot air.
The pilot's diaphragm is pressed against the seat.
The pressure above the plunger equalizes with the pressure in the tank through the gap between the plunger and the horse, and the plunger moves down to the pulse pipe and completes the cleaning pulse.
The sequence time (from the beginning of the opening to the closed valve) depends on the requirements of the technological process, i.e. on the volume of pulsed air per pulse and the guaranteed ejection.
INSTALLATION
AND ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS! Before
assembling the OPTIPOW units, it is important to thoroughly clean the inside of the pressure tank. Any particle in the tank may cause serious problems with the operation of the impulse valves in the future.
The OPTIPOW valve is designed for vertical installation as standard. When the valve is to operate horizontally, an additional internal spring must be used. This will ensure that the plunger is always in the closed position when pressurizing the cleaning system.
As a rule, OPTIPOW is supplied as a single unit in special packaging. For detailed assembly instructions for the individual parts, see the OPTIPOW assembly drawing.
First, unpack the valves when installing them.
Make sure that there is no visible damage to the valve.
Make sure that there is no foreign material inside the valve.
Make sure that the upper part of the impulse tube is smooth and free of burrs.
The item numbers below refer to those shown in Figure 1.
Place the piston (item 4) in the upper part of the impulse tube. Lubricate the O-ring on the outside of the valve body (item 1) and align the house with the plunger. When installing the pulse valve, be careful not to damage the O-ring. Rotate the house so that the solenoid faces the desired direction. Tighten the four bolts with your fingers as long as possible, then make the final adjustment with a cross-shaped tool to avoid damaging the O-ring. Torque to specifications.
NOTE!
The valve body is sensitive to impacts on the bottom of the body (see sketch below).
If the house is subject to impact and the piston cannot move up and down inside the house, you can use a hammer or cone tool to reshape the housing taps, thereby allowing the piston to move up and down freely.
Notes on installation of spare parts
When receiving an OPTIPOW unit as a spare part, there are some additional points to consider when installing.
Before removing the faulty OPTIPOW from the pressure tank, check the following.
First, unpack the valves when installing them.
Make sure there is no visible damage to the valve.
Make sure there is no foreign material inside the valve.
Check the solenoid label to make sure it is the correct type installed.
CAUTION: Make sure that the pressure in the pressure tank has been released to ambient pressure.
NOTE!
Due to the risk of particles, moisture and other foreign objects entering the tank, never leave the pressure tank unattended with the tank opening open. If the work cannot be done, replace the old OPTIPOW unit or close the opening in another way. Never pressurize an incomplete tank.
Dismantle the OPTIPOW unit.
Injection through the opening information about the condition of the inside of the pressure tank, particles, moisture, etc.
If necessary, clean the inside of the tank with a vacuum cleaner until a satisfactory result has been archived.
When installing the OPTIPOW spare part, follow the assembly instructions in section 5.1.
AIR CONNECTION WITH THE PILOT
The pilot air for the solenoid is supplied from the inlet pipe to the pressure tank. The pilot air pipe is common to all valves in one tank and is connected before the main pressure valve of the corresponding tank.
The pipe must have a shut-off valve and a check valve that ensures that the pressure is maintained even when the pressure drops during pulsation.
NOTE:
If a separate pilot air supply pipe is used, the pilot air pressure should be approximately equal to the pressure in the tank.
Too high a pressure will cause permanent deformation of the diaphragm, which will shorten the service life and have a detrimental effect on the pulse cleaning function.
General Information
When all the pulse valves have been installed, the tank unit should be tested for leaks as well as the operation of the individual pulse valves. The testing principles and acceptable results should be as described below.
Tank Unit Test Procedure
1. Securely fasten the entire unit to the floor or a fixed test fixture, and then heat the tank unit to 200 kPa (2 bar). Note that the pilot air must be at the same pressure. Eliminate possible leaks at the connections.
If tank pressure cannot be achieved, check the following:
Is there a leak through the evacuation holes "B".
Make sure the pilot air is connected and there are no leaks at the connections.
Replace the solenoid valve. Note the position of the mark on the side of the solenoid in relation to the gap in the top cover when installing.
If any valve is leaking, dismantle it and check that the plunger valve operates freely.
Clean the surfaces if necessary.
If it is a normal leak, dismantle all the valves and check the measure "A", Figure 8. If necessary, process the surface of the impulse pipe. Please note that the upper part of the impulse pipes after machining should be polished to avoid sharp edges, and finally the tank should be cleaned.
2. Turn off the air supply.
3. Check the pressure drop in the tank depending on time. The permissible pressure drop is 50 kPa per minute. Even if the leak is higher, continue to 4.
4. Check the operation of each valve with an impulse of 200 kPa. Repeat this for 3 cycles.
5. Repeat with 3. If the leak is still high, try to find out whether some valve leaks more than others, dismantle it and check the sealing surface and then measure "A". If necessary, process the surface to the required tolerance.
6. Install the valve and start again from 3. This should be repeated until an acceptable result is achieved.
7. The final test result shall be documented for each tank unit in accordance with the sample given in Appendix A. A copy of the result shall be returned to the customer but also enclosed in the pressure tank upon delivery.
ERROR DETECTION AND DETECTION SCHEME

Particles in the tank and / or valve (for air quality requirements, see Appendix B) ?

the bleed holes fully open (no crowbar blocking the air flow from the pilot valve) ?
Check that the on-off valve is engaged, the valve without retum is correctly positioned
solenoid correct electrical connection?
Leaking valve:
sealing test completed successfully (instructions) ?
Are all bolts assembled with the correct torque?
Is the o-ring intact?
Diaphragm of good quality (no deformations and flexible) ?
Check the o-ring on the solenoid.
