Demystifying Pulse Valve Operation: An Expert Breakdown of Common Failures and Fixes

November 11, 2025

Common Faults and Solutions for Pulse Valves

  1. Valve Fails to Operate

    • Cause: Solenoid coil failure, such as coil burnout, short circuit, or open circuit.

    • Solution: Inspect the solenoid coil and measure its resistance with a multimeter. If the resistance value is abnormal, replace the solenoid coil.

  2. Power Supply Failure

    • Cause: Power supply is not connected, voltage is too low, or unstable.

    • Solution: Check the power circuit to ensure the power supply is properly connected. Measure the voltage; if it is too low, adjust it to the specified value.

  3. Valve Fails to Close After Opening

    • Cause: Residual magnetism in the solenoid coil after power loss prevents the valve core from resetting.

    • Solution: For cases with residual magnetism, demagnetize the solenoid coil or replace it with a higher-quality one to ensure no residual magnetism remains after power loss.

  4. Diaphragm Damage, Resulting in Inability to Open or Close the Valve Properly

    • Cause: Open the pulse valve and check if the diaphragm is damaged or aged. The spring on the diaphragm may be damaged or lack elasticity, preventing the diaphragm from returning to the closed position.

    • Solution: Replace the diaphragm kit promptly.

  5. Valve Core Stuck

    • Cause: Impurities or foreign objects entering the valve interior prevent the valve core from moving freely, resulting in failure to close properly.

    • Solution: Disassemble the pulse valve, clean out internal impurities and foreign objects, and check if the valve core is worn or deformed. If necessary, replace the valve core promptly.
